Wescotes Drive was a domestic interior design project for a young family. The house itself was a beautiful Victorian building in need of some TLC. We were asked to design the interiors for the whole property, taking the traditional elements of the house and showcasing them in a modern way.
The Thinking
Our clients were busy young parents with two very energetic children, so we knew straight away the house needed to be a practical living space. We made the most of the large Victorian windows by using light colours throughout to give a bright, airy feel. This was contrasted with statement pieces of furniture and artist works which really brought a contemporary feel to the house. On the second floor, we opened the ceiling up into the rafters of the house creating a double height space – something you don't see very often in a property such as this.
The kitchen is the true heart of the home with a central island for family chatter, and there's no shortage of storage with floor to ceiling height pantry style cupboards.
The Result
A huge transformation for this family home. The interior of the property is now unrecognisable from its starting point. Not only are the living spaces beautifully designed and very unique, each room has been carefully planned to function perfectly for the family.
