The owner of Mirch Masala approached us to redefine the identity and interior for a pure vegetarian restaurant in the heart of Leicester’s Asian community. In an area with lots of dining competition, the restaurant needed to offer a different experience to stand out.
The Thinking
We wanted to make the dining experience reflect the unique nature of the restaurant – which offers pure vegetarian food from three continents. The interior design needed to be bright, dynamic and contemporary.
We defined a blend of rich and fresh colours, which we mixed with abstract imagery of vegetarian food, and people photography. This complimentary mix has created a friendly and engaging environment. This contemporary approach has given the restaurant a unique feel within its market.
The Result
Mirch Masala’s first restaurant in Leicester’s 'Golden Mile' area was such a financial success that the owners opened a second restaurant using the same creative theme in the city centre only eight months later. Now, several years on the restaurant is still a great success and adhering to the strong brand which turned their fortunes around.
The Feedback
Our new image has created so much more custom that we are now opening a second restaurant in a prime city centre location, again with a Newenglish design.
