A pillar of their community, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has been providing competitive savings accounts and mortgages, along with the highest standards of customer service, for over 150 years.

We partnered with Hinckley & Rugby Building Society more than a decade ago and developed a fresh new identity worthy of their reputation for excellent customer service and a wide range of products.

Effective branding

Good branding includes everything the public or your clients see, hear, and feel. Every touchpoint.

So, we began by designing the brand, creating a communications strategy, and refining their tone of voice – the words used and the way they’re used. Using the new brand we created a new suite of corporate literature, the look and feel of their website, and a complete refit of all their high street branch interiors and exterior signage.

Inviting interiors

Inside the branches we added comfortable, contemporary-classic furniture pieces in rich, positive colours, to work with the large-scale wallpapers we created. The resulting spaces became bright, tasteful, welcoming, and designed to be accessible and dementia friendly.

Over a decade on the branches still look fresh.

A signature style

We use a candid, naturalistic style of photography throughout all Hinckley & Rugby communications. Depicting ‘real people’, this signature style helps communicate the trustworthiness of the Building Society, and the community it serves.

It’s good to see this has become a mainstream approach. Remember, this ongoing project spans over a decade, which is why we thought we’d showcase it here.

Well-crafted messaging

Digital is central to everything we do. Illustration and moving image can help to add focus to websites, and with well-crafted messaging, form the basis of great social media campaigns.
