For 20 years, Focus Consultants have gone from strength to strength as a company. They asked us to create them a new website that would look slick and professional, along with retaining the uniqueness that their existing website offered. Functionally the brief was to create a site that was easy to update, and worked across mobiles and tablets.
The Thinking
When we're given a brief that asks for a unique and individual design it's a happy day in studio. The website design needed to create differentiation against their competitors, and so we wanted it to look stylistically very unique.
We'd previously created a bright colour palette for Focus which was used as a contrast to the clean, white background on the website. Rather than creating a tidy 'straight edged' website, our approach was to hang the elements of the site from a more centrally aligned X and Y gridline, creating a unique jagged edge.
The projects section is a key area of the site that uses a clever filtering system to allow visitors to drill down and find what they're looking for quickly and easily.
The Result
We absolutely answered the brief. The site is unique and is really eye-catching. But good looks aren't everything, so the site is super functional too. It's now very easy for Focus' website visitors to find what they're looking for, read about the company and to get in touch.
Looks great on mobiles and tablets – and content updates are incredibly simple to do.
